Behind the Name
When Angelina, our CEO, was young, she would always sleep with her teddy bear, since she was afraid of the dark. For her, and others, teddy bears offered protection and security in times of fear and loneliness. When she created the nonprofit, her goal was to reshape education to become more accessible while creating a welcoming and kind community. She was reminded of her childhood teddy bear, which offered her comfort while she grew and matured. As a symbol of love, good times, comfort, and growth, the teddy bear represented all of what Angelina strove for, and so the nameTeddy Bear Community was created.
Community Involvement
Teddy Bear Community strives to make an impact on each member's local community while building its members' people skills through in-person booths advertising this program.
Classes
Below are some of the classes we offer!
Writing
Over the span of this course, we’ll be covering several literary topics, including creative writing, essay writing, and poem development. You’ll learn how to structure your writing and express any ideas you have through the creative forms of the art, in addition to being taught the nuances of essay writing. Students will be given personal feedback on what they write, and will conclude the course with a final writing project that reflects their literary interest. Writing is a skill that can be universally applied, and is vital for a child to learn, especially when they are faced with essay writing in school or if they have an interest in the expressive form of the art
